Bringing children from Gaza to Israel for surgery requires a specific, multi-stage medical evacuation process coordinated and led by humanitarian organizations such as ours, in partnership with medical and surgical facilitators, all subject to Israeli security clearance and permit approvals. The process for medical evacuation of a child has become significantly more complex after the war, creating urgency and a growing backlog of children desperately waiting to receive life-saving surgery. The approval process — including coordination with a sponsor country, security clearance approvals, and transportation arrangements — has become highly restricted and limited. Despite these challenges, the need remains urgent and overwhelming. Many children require life-saving operations that are simply unavailable in Gaza. Our organization works through global partnerships with host hospitals that provide non-profit medical treatments for every child we support. By donating, you are helping us cover critical logistical costs — including transportation, medical examinations required for approval by referral committees, and coordination with our partner hospitals. Approval is only one part of the journey. We must also ensure that family members can accompany the child abroad and that all necessary living expenses are covered for the duration of their stay.
